Stunningly Simple Printmaking! Join Glenda Hennig in creating gorgeous prints using lots of materials... from lino to meat trays and a few household items thrown in... Topics: relief, collagraph, monotypes, stencils and stamps. Glenda is a highly experienced and regarded artist and tutor in drawing, printmaking, ceramics and mixed media. Paper Arts, including botanical papers and artists' books have become a primary medium in recent years for Glenda. So to follow up from the "Stunningly Simple Printmaking workshop", Glenda will be holding workshops in "Artists' Books & Journalling" (TBA)
Printmaking - Mondays: Aug 23rd &/or 30th. $45 pp session or $90 for both. Some BYO materials required: email for a list.

Tutored Art Group Wednesdays 8.30 to 12.30 Join Professional Artist Lizzi Connor in our Tutored Art Groups. Each week there will be a mini demo at the start of each session, every 3rd week there will be various tasks and exercises, to increase your skill level, then enjoy working on your own piece whilst Lizzi mentors you. Types of mediums in this group are: Painting - Oil & Acrylic, Drawing, Pastels, Charcoal, Mix Media.
Just bring your art piece & materials. (Odourless Turps pls). Upright easels, tables, chairs, tea & coffee provided. Only $25 per session - book one week advance. Or whole day $40.
Open Studio - FREE !!! ALL OF AUGUST 2010 This is a group of people painting etc and sharing ideas, giving each other encouragement and generally enjoying the company of like-minded people of all skill levels. However if anyone in the group needs product assistance – “what do I use to get that affect?” we are more then happy to assist you on a one-to-one or explain/demonstrate to the whole group. Every Tuesday 9am to 1pm. Book each session 1 week in advance.

Watercolours with James McKay An experienced Landscape artist, James has 25 years painting experience. He has taught and exhibited since 2003. “To me the excitement of watercolour is the way the washes move and the pigments mix on the paper to create a feeling of spontaneity... I also work very fast which keeps the freshness and gives the work an energetic and light feel”.

Intermediate Oils & Acrylics. Award winning Artist - Don Miller does live class demonstrations of painting techniques to show how it's done... and then it's your turn, so bring your paints, a canvas and your enthusiasm. Don will be there to assist you and lend a hand as you paint. Learn about oil paint, mediums and colour use. Each workshop is from 8.40am to 3.30pm $ 150pp per workshop.

Children's Art - After School Art Program - Term 2 - Tuesdays (Bookings available for Term 3) Learn To See As An Artist Lyn McCrea has extensive experience working with children. Through fun activities the children will learn the various grades of graphite pencil and how to introduce tonal shades to their work and develop their own colour wheel and lots more. From this point, working from a still life they will work with different mediums such as charcoal, soft & oil pastels, paint and collage. It is a great fun learning environment. 6 to 18 years of age - previous experience not essential. Adults may change this group under special terms and considtions.
Tuesdays (School Days Only) - 3.15pm for 3.30 start - finishes 5.30pm. $18pp.

Pastels Portraits - with Maxine Thompson - New Zealand born artist and tutor, Maxine Thompson has been recognized for her talent at depicting people and animals in life like pictures. Named as master pastellist by the Pastel Society of Australia, Maxine is called upon to give advice and critiques at its meetings. Beginners welcomed. Develop your skills for each facial feature and skin tone type. Also master drawing in proportion and learn shading for realism. There is lots of time for practise and to get Maxine to re-domonstrate any areas you feel you need a little more help with. Sept 18th - 22nd 8.30am to 4.00pm - except Tues 2pm finish. $ 350 pp. Sept 24th - 28th 8.30am to 4.00pm - except Tues 2pm finish $350 pp. Materials list is now available.  |
